Streamwire shortlisted as finalist for Cummins Environmental Gateway framework

IT services provider, Streamwire, has been shortlisted as a finalist in Cummins Environmental Gateway, for its innovative and sustainable CareTaker product.

CareTaker is a cloud-based energy management system that regulates power to PCs and laptops to save electricity and CO2. In addition to its green credentials, the solution has been built to save organisations money by being priced on a pay-as-you-go basis and following successful implementation for previous customers, has enabled a return on investment within just seven months.

Launched in August 2016, the Cummins Environmental Gateway, celebrates sustainable innovators and connects with the supply chain to help improve Cummins impact to the environment and reduce its carbon footprint. Following the shortlist, finalists will present their idea to a panel, who will then choose which innovations will be implemented throughout Cummins’ UK sites, based on its ability to help Cummins realise its 2020 sustainability targets, while helping reduce costs.

Anne Stokes, CEO of Streamwire said: “It’s a really exciting opportunity for Streamwire, to be recognised as a finalist amongst over 100 submissions. We’re seeing the results of our CareTaker product, which not only won Costain’s award for Carbon and Environment Innovation in 2015, but has now been further acknowledged by Cummins, as a possible solution to help achieve their sustainability goals.

“The recognition comes at an important time for the IT sector. While technology continues to grow and innovate, more and more pressure is being placed on the industry to reduce carbon emissions and provide sustainable solutions. Yet, for organisations who are focussed on increasing business operations, having and maintaining a green solution is often difficult. Our CareTaker innovation takes away the stress from companies, by providing an easy-to-implement, cloud-based solution that not only saves on electricity and carbon levels, but provides a cost-effective solution that very quickly begins to see a real ROI.”

Speaking about Streamwire’s achievement, Denis Ford, Corporate Indirect Purchasing Leader EMEA, NE/SE Asia & South Pacific at Cummins, said: “We have been very impressed with the quality of the innovations received and even more with the potential for environmental impact and savings. Streamwire should be very proud to be a finalist in the Cummins Environmental Gateway.”
